3) Level 3 (DC fast charger)

Level 1

Level 1 charging or ac charging supply through 120V ac plug and does not need additional charging equipment. Mostly used in homes sometimes in workplaces. It can be plugged into a standard outlet. they mostly deliver 2 to 5 miles of range per hour of charging. They are less costly but also take more time to charge your car battery.

Level 2

Level 2 chargers supply through 240V ( for residential) or 208 (for commercial) plug and different from level 1 charger is that can’t be plugged into a standard wall outlet. They are used for both residential and commercial charging stations.
Level 2 electric car charger delivers 10 to 60 miles of range per hour of charging. They can fully charge an electric vehicle battery as little as 2 hours

Level 3

Level 3 or Dc fast charger supply through 25kw to more than 350kw. they can provide 60 to 100 miles per hour of an electric car in just 20 min.they are mostly used for commercial purposes. In this type of charging ac from grid convert into dc and charge battery without an inverter.
They need highly specialized, high powered equipment to install and maintain. Some vehicles cannot be charged with dc fast charger.
